November has been declared Responsible Gambling Month, and as one of the leading provincial gambling regulators, the Gauteng Gambling Board would like to reaffirm its longstanding commitment to promoting responsible gambling and to emphasize that gambling should always be regarded as a form of entertainment.
Recent reports highlighting the alarming rise in irresponsible gambling, particularly among the youth, have deeply concerned us. As the Gauteng Gambling Board, we sincerely urge all punters, young people, and society at large to act responsibly when engaging in gambling activities.
We also wish to remind the public that support is available. Those in need of help can access our Self-Exclusion Programme, a confidential process designed to assist individuals in managing their gambling habits.
