
Friday, 19 June 2026, the Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Hon. Kenny Morolong (MP), accompanied by members of the MDDA Board, Mams Radio leadership, local ward councillors and representatives from civil society, officially handed over brand-new, state-of-the-art digital broadcast studios to Mams Radio 92.9 FM in Mamelodi, Tshwane.
This milestone marks a remarkable chapter in the station’s journey. Since its establishment in 2011, Mams Radio has remained true to its founding mission of giving the community a voice. Built on passion and local support, the station has grown into a trusted platform for information, education, culture and entertainment.
Today, Mams Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day across the City of Tshwane, proudly showcasing the vibrant spirit of Pitori through diverse languages and authentic community stories. Its programming continues to inform, educate and connect generations of listeners through content that resonates with the people it serves.
Through the support of the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA), the station has been transformed into a modern broadcasting hub, equipped with advanced studios, enhanced sound quality and resilient infrastructure capable of keeping the station on air, even during power outages.
From humble beginnings to a fully digitised media powerhouse, Mams Radio 92.9 FM continues to empower communities, amplify local voices and shape the future of community broadcasting.
