FIFA officially confirmed that the maximum squad size for the upcoming World Cup will be 𝟮𝟲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀.
Countries that will participate at this year’s event have until May 30 to submit their final squads.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 teams, an expansion from the previous 32 teams format. 12 Groups of four teams with a total of 104 matched to be played. Top two teams will advance to round of 32, with I best third place teams onto the top two of the 12 Groups.
The tournament, co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United Stated will kick off on the 11 June 2026 to the 19 July 2026.
