On Saturday, 27 February , 2026 I happened to be of privilege to be hosted by #CarnivalCity as as part of my birthday celebration.
I had no doubts honoring the invite as the venue never disappoint when it comes to premier entertainment.
First up was the Soweto Derby in the afternoon then shortly thereafter made my way to #CarnivalCity in time to book in and later attend the much publicized and talked about event called Sankota Fest which was headlines by the evergreen Thandiswa Mazwai.
Upon getting into my room I got a heavenly like reception when I noticed that my birthday was turned into sheer royalty with the addition of some tasty chocs and a bottle of personalized wine from the Management team.
Also found my show tickets and next up was a meal voucher to enjoy at anyone of the countless dining spots around the Casino.
My first stop was a bite at Spur followed by the Sankota Fest which was a blockbuster .
Later took a stride to New Orleans bar for some drinks before rounding up the evening at the Magic Company .
The Casino area was electric with visitors hanging out and and enjoying the slots action.
Had a peaceful sleep on the magnificent room bed and upon getting up in the morning I had to dive into the spacious swimming pool prior to having a sumptuous breakfast that led my taste bud to “Feel Every Moment ” .
Undoubtedly the best place to be for the Easter Holidays for anyone looking for affordable family fun and all round entertainment.
The Sun International Resort is just the place to be if you are in and around Gauteng.
You will be spoiled to the tee with the offerings at CarnivalCity whether you are a day visitor or looking for a weekend getaway.
A memorable evening indeed that I wouldn’t trade for anything else.
