Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba: The Premier Tourism Events of 2025

Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba are back for their 2025 editions, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! Meetings Africa, scheduled for February 24-26, 2025, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, is the premier business events trade show in Africa. It’s a fantastic opportunity for global tourism professionals to connect, collaborate, and create lasting value and economic impact.

Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, will likely play a key role in these events, as she has been instrumental in driving the tourism sector’s growth and development. Since her appointment as Minister of Tourism in March 2023, De Lille has been working tirelessly to promote South Africa as a preferred tourist destination ¹.

Africa’s Travel Indaba, taking place from May 12-15, 2025, at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, will focus on showcasing Africa’s leisure tourism products and promoting partnerships geared towards advancing the continent’s growth.

Both events are expected to provide immersive experiences and excellent value for exhibitors, buyers, and media alike. By connecting the best of the African leisure and business events industry with relevant buyers from across the globe, these events create an environment conducive to transacting and building quality connections. As Minister De Lille noted, the tourism sector has the potential to contribute significantly to South Africa’s economic growth, and events like Meetings Africa and Africa’s Travel Indaba are crucial in achieving this goal.
